About Thomas Stanworth
After studying Biological Sciences at Bristol University, Thomas served in the British Army before spending fifteen years living and photographing in conflict zones as a civilian. His work has won numerous international awards and has been exhibited in the UK, US, Europe.
In 2011, he was a winner of the Hearst 8x10 Biennial which recognises 'the next generation of global photographic talent'. In the same year, he was selected as one of 'Britain's top 25 photographers' to shoot the Hidden Gems gems project in support of Variety, the children's charity, receiving national coverage.
Based in the UK, Thomas is a full-time professional photographer & writer, also maintaining The Photo Fundamentalist.
His photographs have also been featured in the Sunday Times, New Internationalist and in many other print and online media in the UK and abroad. With an unusual background, Thomas provides a genuinely unique photographic vision, offering unseen insights and visual perspectives.
